I've been pretty slack with my blogging over the last week....so what has been happening???.... Well, After a long weekend in Sydney visiting family and friends I am revived and looking forward to a weekend of sewing. I am sporting a new haircut (from Scissorhands in Newtown) and have a swag full of fabrics from one of my favourite stores in Sydney, The Remnant Warehouse, these should keep me busy for some time.
I have also finished my dreaded skirt (and even ventured out of the house with it on so its probably not as bad as first thought) and have started making a Amy Butler tunic dress....very brave of me but hopefully this one turns out, I think that I am much better at making collars than people clothes.
After a lunch with the Brisstyle team I was more than inspired to get onto some crafty exploits and this new dog collar, made from my new fabric is just one of the results.
The other is a skirt that I have been attempting to make for the past 4 weeks. I'm not overly pleased with the result however I think that I am a little harsh on myself..but because of that there are no pictures....to compensate here is a picture of Alvin making himself at home in my work space.
New fabrics arrived today from sewlovefabrics. And I couldn't have asked for better service and packaging! I wish that I had taken a photo before I undid the packaging but I couldn't wait to get them out and have a closer look.
I am very excited to get to work and make some new dog and cat collars out of these awesome fabrics and have patiently been waiting for them to dry after their prewash. Looks like I have a busy weekend ahead. Keep an eye out in my etsy store for new designs in the coming week.
I just finished this new dog collar and couldn't wait to share this one. I'm calling it Georgie Chicken because it has little chickens in the fabric. Its very cute and would suit any dog who has taste and style.
The inspiration for Prèt à pawté -- ready to wear pet accessories -- was our cat Alvin, who my husband and I adopted from the Cat Protection Society in 2008. Being a modern cat Alvin wasn't interested in the usual cat collars with all their flashy diamantes and additional bling. Alvin is very NOW in his funky, handcrafted fabric collars and wanted to share his style with Dogs and Cats throughout the world.
